March Against Monsanto: Today May 25 2013 will go down in history as the first time people from across the planet rose up against the global biotech giant Monsanto to try and stop them taking over the World’s food system.

Sustainable Pulse will be uploading videos from around the World over the next 2 days to give an online voice to the March Against Monsanto events. If you do not find your video here please send a link to us –  info@sustainablepulse.com . Our friends at GMO Action have also put up a full world map of the events.

The March Against Monsanto will involve tens of thousands of activists around the world. Currently, marches are being planned on six continents, in about 40 countries, totaling events in over 300 cities, and in the US, events are slated to occur simultaneously at 11 a.m. Pacific in 47 states.

Tami Monroe Canal, lead organizer and creator of the now-viral Facebook page, says she was inspired to start the movement to protect her two daughters. “I feel Monsanto threatens their generation’s health, fertility and longevity. I couldn’t sit by idly, waiting for someone else to do something.” [The full March Against Monsanto mission statement can be read here.]

We marched against Monsanto today in Melbourne Aus , we were 3,000 people strong with one voice and one message NO GMO’S – BAN MONSANTO!!! Our governments had better start listening to their constituents…they are definitely not a voice for us – they are a puppet of the Multi Nationals = WAKE UP! Your decisions are costing the EARTH!

To add to the mix, we had hundreds in San Francisco and there were hundreds across the bay in Oakland. People were shocked to learn that the native plants restoration movement is funded and fueled by pesticide companies such as Monsanto. Whole forests are being thinned and even clearcut, with plans to herbicide regularly for 10 years following. That is a truly destructive worldwide movement and we’re happy knowing many more are reading up on it on our ‘wildfire and clearcutting page’ at http://www.dontspraycalifornia.org. We all are the change we want to see.
